Alango Technologies Releases 8th Generation VCP
Tirat Carmel, Israel (July 18, 2016) - Alango Technologies Ltd., a global leader in voice, audio, and hearing enhancement announced the release of its 8th generation Voice Communication Package, VCP8 - a universal package of DSP technologies for voice applications including bluetooth hands-free in automotive and accessories, cellular handsets, and intercom systems. The VCP8 package will include the following core functionality:
- Adaptive Directional Microphone (multi-mic beamforming)
- Acoustic echo cancellation with residual echo suppression (Tx)
- Noise suppressor (Tx, Rx)
- Automatic gain control and dynamic range compressor (Tx, Rx)
- EQ with 32Hz resolution
- Supported sampling rates: 8KHz, 16KHz, 24kHz, 32kHz
VCP8 is characterized by low latency (Tx/Rx), small code size, small CPU load, and ease of porting to different computational platforms. Alango’s configurator is included, which makes VCP8 very flexible and easy to tune for different use case scenarios. VCP8 enables high quality, full duplex, noise free communication in a host of different applications and environments. For example, VCP8 specifically addresses the issues of engine, wind, rain, and fan noise as well as reverberations in the automotive cabin that degrade intelligible speech. Another use case utilizes Alango’s Adaptive Wind Noise Reduction (AWNR) algorithm in multi-mic bluetooth headsets. Additionally multi-microphone beamforming implementations are possible such as 3 or 4 microphone systems in smartphones and tablets for unparalleled noise reduction and capture of stereo sound. New applications involving far field voice capture for IoT devices are also possible.
Optional functional features are possible to implement depending on the use case. Automatic Volume and Equalization “AVQ” is one such optional feature that automatically adjusts the loudspeaker frequency and amplitude in relation to environmental noise. EasyListen is another optional feature, which allows the user to slow down incoming speech in real time, which is useful when listening to a “fast-talker” or speaker of a foreign language.
